Creating space for imagination.

The New Town Muralist is where the grandeur of neoclassical architecture meets the warmth of a family home. Hand-painted murals inspired by Georgian plasterwork, painted mouldings and botanical motifs — designed

to grow with your children and your life.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

WALLS CAN tell a story.

The New Town Muralist was born from a love of Edinburgh's extraordinary architectural heritage and the desire to bring that beauty into rooms actually inhabited by families. Every mural bridges the gap between historic splendour and the warmth of everyday life.

Imagination has
a home base

Our environment matters. A room itself can communicates safety, possibility and identity. When a child can see themselves in the stories on their walls, they build the confidence to invent new ones.

Nature calms the busy mind

A mural provides gentle, passive engagement: something to look at during the difficult moments of a long day. The Georgian tradition of bringing the outside in was never just aesthetic

growing spaces alongside minds

The feeling of having influence and agency over spaces is fundamental to development. A mural invites children to contribute, colour, and claim ownership of their space.

Go to your room... it will do you good.

Play therapy and environmental psychology both tell us the same thing: the spaces children inhabit shape how they feel, think and grow. A mural isn't decoration — it's an investment in your child's inner world, woven into the architecture of your home.
